This page exists purely to demonstrate the Web 2.0 concept of mashing -- or in other words the automatic pulling together of online resources from lots of different providers into a single offering. This page actually features eight web services: the six explicitly shown below, plus the advert on the right, and the Google Analytics code that allows traffic to all of the pages on this website to be tracked.
And here is a Twitter widget to keep up to date on my activities, and which was inserted using embed code from Twitter.
And here is a chart embedded from a Zoho Spreadsheet using the chart's "publish" option. The chart will change every time I change the data in the spreadhsheet on Zoho.
And here is an embedded Youtube Video. By uploading this video to Youtube I don't have to worry about the hosting, and it gains far more exposure and search engine optimization.
And here is a Google TranslateGoogle Gadget that can allow you to read this page in other languages.
And finally here is a Google Gadget written by Adam Bowman just in case you want to play with a cartoon hamster! Just click in the cage to give it some food.
Mashups are created when one or more web services are automatically integrated into another website, hence creating pages that feature content or services from two separate providers.
